S ince many of the people who might be interested in FX might not be familiar with PHP -- or the XML support in FileMaker for that matter -- here are some links which may be helpful:
The PHP On-Line Manual
This is the English version of PHP's official on-line documentation (versions in other languages are linked from this page.) They're very good. There are even user submitted tips, clarifications, etc. If you're new to PHP, or thinking of starting with it, check out this site.
FileMaker's XML Central
This is the home for information about XML and FileMaker. It's really quite good. If you're interested in knowing more about how FileMaker works with XML, this is the place to start. There's even some PDF documentation that should give more experienced PHP programmers what they need to know to customize FX.php.
Home Page of Marc Liyanage
Just who is Marc Liyanage and why should you care? Well, though I don't know him personally, I DO know that if you're hoping to get certain nifty Unix tools (like PHP and MySQL, for example) running under Mac OS X, Marc has done a lot of the hard work for you. Just have a look at the software portion of his web site. (Link added with the permission of the site's owner.)
JpGraph
How does a PHP class sound that draws about any kind of graph that you could want? Now suppose that class spanned the gamut from easy setup for basic data sets to powerful handling of complex data, does that sound interesting? If so, check out JpGraph.
JaneBUILDER
Although I do all of my coding by hand, I'm well aware that not everyone is quite comfortable doing that. If you're one of these people, and you're running Mac OS X, have a look. (Program suggested by Gjermund Gusland Thorsen.)
Home Page of Gjermund Gusland Thorsen
Gjermund deserves a heaping portion of kudos for his help with FX! He has given numerous suggestions and requests to help FX along, as well as doing what must have been a lot of legwork to put the extended character tables together. Not to mention his interest in creating FX add-ons for popular WYSIWYG HTML editors. (Gjermund also deserves some praise for his patience while waiting for me to update everything...=)
Submit Your FX.php Site
The reception for FX has been awesome! A lot of you out there are probably already using FX. Have you used FX.php to serve your FileMaker Pro data on the web? Would you like to show your work off? Drop me a line, and you may just find your site THE LIST! Granted, I do have final say over who I link to from my site, but I'll post as many as I can.
